About Me

Anna joined the School of Arts and Creative Technologies as an Associate Lecturer in Interactive Media in September 2015. She is currently module convenor for the “Programming for Digital Media” and “App Design and App Development” modules on the Interactive Media BSc as well as “Systems Design for Sound and Image” on the Film and Television Production BSc. Anna is also a Research Fellow for XR Stories.

Anna will be talking about Session 7. The Role of the Narrator.

Part of the narrator's role is to present a perspective that shapes how the audience understands and interprets the story being told. But how do different approaches to narration affect audience understanding? In this session, Anna will talk about her research project - Destigmatising Disability in Future Stories - where she is exploring how different approaches to narration (or lack thereof) can influence an audience's understanding of disability, and the potential for increased stigma if these stories are not told appropriately.
