About Me
Designer, hacker, artist, and entrepreneur, Sam Mateosian is a co-founder of Yarn Corporation, the maker of Driftspace - a platform for creating and publishing VR stories combining video and interactive 3D content. Our mission is to empower more people and organizations, from big brands to nonprofits, to share their stories using immersive media.
Yarn Corporation has produced and published VR stories on a wide range of topics including: Maine island and coastal communities; Somali refugees; kelp aquaculture; migrant farming; at-risk youth in India; VR marketing for Samsung devices and Walmart mobile services; and most recently a VR music and arts experience that was selected for Tribeca Film Festival's Best in Season.
Formerly, Sam was the co-founder and Chief Innovation Officer for Big Room Studios, a creative technology company that provides digital product design, consulting, and software development services for web and mobile applications.
He’s the founder of Hack Portland, a group of hardware and software hackers, makers, and tinkerers working to change the world one roll of duct-tape and one line of code at a time.
